ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud Cathedral graduate Anne Schleper is getting ready to skate for an Olympic gold medal, and her alma mater is getting ready to cheer her on.

The women's hockey gold medal game with team USA taking on Canada starts at 11:00 a.m. our time tomorrow (Thursday).  Canada beat the Americans 3-2 in the preliminary round. Schleper had a goal and an assist in the game.

Canada is the defending gold medalists, beating team USA 2-0 in the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver.

Cathedral has announced they'll have several viewing areas around the school during the lunch periods, and then they plan to bring the entire student body, alums, and community members together to watch the 3rd period as a group.

So far at the Olympic Games in Sochi, Schleper has scored one goal and has had two assists, with 15 shots on goal, in just over 80 minutes of ice time.

Schleper graduated from Cathedral in 2008, and then went on to win a national championship with the University of Minnesota.

Schleper's family has been blogging about their experience in Sochi.
