ST. CLOUD - A long stretch of 33rd Avenue in St. Cloud will be under construction later this year. The St. Cloud City Council has approved a more than $3.1 million street improvement project along 33rd Avenue from 2nd Street South to 12th Street North.

A section of 33rd Avenue North from 1st Street North to 8th Street North will be converted from a four-lane to a three-lane road. The traffic signals will be updated at five intersections.

The city will assess property owners nearly $530,000 for the project, and the city will pay the remaining nearly $2.6 million cost.
