St. Cloud Woman Makes History at Double Triathlon
ST. CLOUD -- Laura Knoblauch of St. Cloud made history this weekend, becoming the youngest woman ever to complete a full double triathlon.
The Double ANVIL Ultra triathlon requires swimming 4.8 miles, bicycling 224 miles, and running two consecutive marathons (52.4 miles).
Knoblauch, daughter of State Representative Jim Knoblauch, finished with a time of 34 hours, 20 minutes and 38 seconds at the event in Orlando, Florida.
The 21-year-old is currently studying secondary education and majoring in English and Spanish at the University of Colorado.
With the event, Knoblauch raised money through a GoFundMe page for a South Asia school that helps to keep girls out of sex trafficking, a prevalent problem in that area.
