ST. CLOUD -- There's a bill making it's way through the State Legislature that would freeze the salaries of all public school district employees for the next two years.  It's already passed the Senate, and the House is expected to vote on it soon.

St. Cloud Area School District Superintendent Bruce Watkins says he's not supportive of that piece of the bill.

The piece of that bill that Watkins does support is the removal of a penalty to the school district, if they miss the January 15th bargaining deadline with the teachers union.

The St. Cloud Area School District is facing a $1 million to $3 million budget deficit for the next school year.  If you have ideas on what cuts could be made, there are two public input meetings -- this Wednesday at South junior high at 7:00 p.m. and February 22nd at Apollo at 7:00 p.m.  You can e-mail your suggestions by going to the District's website and filling-out a special form.
