ST. CLOUD -- Hundreds of different clubs, sports teams and businesses showcased themselves at St. Cloud State University's Mainstreet Wednesday.

This year several volunteer organizations came out to the annual fall event.

Hannah Stomnes is a Volunteer Program Specialist at CentraCare Health she says the service student volunteers give to patients is beneficial to the student and the patient.

"Our patients and guests are getting a much better experience because of volunteers . Our college volunteers in-particular are getting a really awesome behind the scenes healthcare experience from top to bottom at the hospital."

CentraCare wasn't the only volunteer booth at Mainstreet, the American Red Cross booth was also drawing a crowd.

Allison Belting is a Volunteer Engagement Representative with the Red Cross. She says students usually know about how to donate blood but what they don't know is how the Red Cross can help with their career goals.

"If you want to go into a medical field we have our blood donations center that you can go work in. You're getting used to the atmosphere of a medical setting."

Even if you're not going into a medical field, you can volunteer on the operations side.

"You can learn logistics and different office skills."

Over 250 organizations came out to this year's Mainstreet event. If you're interested in volunteering, click the links below.
