ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud State students and visitors have the option to pay for parking with their mobile phone this year.

St. Cloud State University has launched PassportParking on parking spaces throughout campus, including the Miller pay lot, Husky pay lot, South pay lot and ISELF pay lot.

To use the service, smartphone users need to download the PassportParking app for iOS or Android devices. Once registered, drivers can pay using the app by connecting it to their credit or debit card.

Parking Coordinator at St. Cloud State University Georgian Gross says drivers enter their parking zone number listed on signage to pay.

Users can also extend a parking session with the app. Notifications remind users when a parking session is about to expire.

Customers don't have to display any proof of payment when using the app, parking enforcement staff can view payments through a wireless handheld device.

St. Cloud State says the app will help students and visitors save time and will give them more flexibility to park on campus. For more, visit the PassportParking website.
