ST. CLOUD - A new state-of-the-art facility has opened for business students at St. Cloud State University.

The Northwestern Mutual Sales Lab creates an environment for students to train and experience selling products to clients.

Sales lab director Denny Bristow says the room features cameras that will give feedback on students body language.

A control room is separated by glass where sales presentations can be recorded for feedback. Feedback can be given to students from the room while they're practicing.

The sales lab and the control room are also connected to a classroom nearby. Students in the class can watch mock interviews and sales pitches to give their classmates feedback.

Bristow says the cameras in the room will record  small and large details. The cameras are moveable and can focus on students or their presentations.

The lab also features Wi-Fi and Cloud capabilities. Sales and business leaders are expected to give guest presentations using the classroom in the future.

The lab is located in the basement of Centennial Hall and will be used by the Herberger Business School.  The lab is a component of the new Professional Selling Specialization program at SCSU. The program is 15 credits of sales training in five different courses.

The lab was made possible thanks to a gift from Northwestern Mutual.
