ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud State University saw a slight uptick in enrollment compared to last year, putting a stop to four years of enrollment decreases.

According to numbers released by the University on Friday, Fall enrollment is at 15,461 students, a 0.3 percent increase (28 students) from 2014.

This marks a stop to four consecutive years of declining enrollment at the University. In 2014, there was a 5.1 percent decrease from the previous year.

The increase was influenced by new undergraduate students, graduate student enrollment and high school students earning college credit through St. Cloud State.

Also worth noting, the University Honors Program accepted 159 new students, which is the largest ever admitted to the program. Enrollment in students of color is also up 5.8 percent from 2014. 16.4 percent of St. Cloud State’s student population is students of color.
