St. Cloud State Football Team Hosts Spring Game, Youth Clinic
ST. CLOUD -- Last fall the St. Cloud State Football team was spared from being eliminated -- and now they're getting back to the business of playing football.
The Huskies are hosting their annual spring football game tomorrow (Saturday) at 1:00 p.m.
St. Cloud State is coming off one of their most successful seasons in school history, playing a record 13 games, and tying a school record for wins with 10. SCSU also advanced in the NCAA Division II playoffs, before losing in overtime to the eventual national champion University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
However, if the Huskies are ever going to stand on their own two feet, they need to put more fans in the stands. Last season, despite having a very good team, they averaged only 3,500 fans per game.
Prior to the spring game, SCSU is hosting a free youth football clinic at Husky Stadium. Boys and girls in grades K-8 are welcome. Registration starts at 11:00 a.m. The first 90 kids receive a free t-shirt.
