St. Cloud Prepares For Annual 4th Of July Fireworks

ST. CLOUD - We're just a few weeks away from the 4th of July, and the St. Cloud Fireworks.

The Fireworks committee has named Liberty Savings Bank President Mark Bragelman the honorary commissioner.

This is the 64th consecutive year for the fireworks in St. Cloud.  And for the fifth year in a row they'll be launched from a barge on the Mississippi River.  The show will have special seating in Wilson Park for members of the military, their families and friends.  The St. Cloud Municipal Band will play a pre-fireworks concert in Hester Park at 8:30 p.m.  Food vendors will be in both parks.  The fireworks will be synchronized to music playing on 98.1 FM 98 Country.

The first fireworks shows were launched at Lake George in 1947.  They were eventually moved to the Benton County Fairgrounds, and then to Wilson Park.
