ST. CLOUD  - St. Cloud Police responded to a three car crash at the intersection of Washington Memorial Drive and University Drive South on Thursday night.

The incident happened at about 7:15 p.m. Police say an SUV driven by 50-year-old Debra Jones of St. Cloud was traveling east on University Drive attempting to make a left turn onto Washington Memorial Drive.

At the same time, a car driven by 39-year-old Anthony Welvaert of St. Cloud was traveling west on University Drive approaching the intersection.

Welvaert continued through a green light when Jones failed to yield to his right-of-way and turned left in front of him, causing a head-on collision. Jones car rolled onto the driver side and slid into another vehicle stopped in the south lane of Washington Memorial Drive.

Jones car received severe damage and Welvaert's car had moderate damage, the third car received only minor damage.

Jones was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was cited for failing to yield. Welvaert was cited for driving after revocation.
