St. Cloud Police Prepared For SCSU Move-In Weekend

Steven Sohlstrom, FlightFlash.com

ST. CLOUD — Thousands of students at St. Cloud State University are moving back to school this weekend. Iit means extra patrols for St. Cloud Police.

Police Chief Dennis Ballantine says a bad reputation has developed over the years where students are known to party hard prompting noise complaints, fights and indecent exposure incidents. So, Ballantine says his officers will be out looking to nip underage drinking and excessive partying in the bud.

Ballantine says they will be out with extra patrols around the campus neighborhoods while the weather is warm and until they see a significant drop in the number of loud parties and underage tickets issued.

Extra patrols have led to fewer arrests and major disturbances over the last couple of years.
