ST. CLOUD - Hot Dogs, cold pop and great raffle prizes were all apart of the fun at the annual Police Benefit Association picnic.

The picnic is the PBA's was of showing appreciation for the surrounding law enforcement community.

Darin Vossen is the treasurer of the PBA. He says the PBA was started as way to help the community as well as officers and their families.

"We are a non-profit organization that raises money within  the [St. Cloud Police Department]. We use the money to support officers and their families when they need it as well as support our community."

Vossen says money they raise goes towards high school graduations, police buddy programs or more serious situations like an officer going through some medical difficulties.

"Assistant Chief Wilson, when he was going through his cancer, we assisted him by setting up fundraisers for him and his family."

They recently helped the family of former St. Cloud Police Officer and Minnesota State Patrolmen Josh Orbeck after he passed away last month, as well as Tanners Team.

The PBA picnic happened Sunday afternoon and was for members of the PBA only.
