St. Cloud Metro Unemployment Rate Drops

ST. CLOUD - The unemployment rate in the St. Cloud metro area dropped significantly last month.

The figures released today (Tuesday) from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show an unemployment rate for our area at 5.1% - down from 6.7% in March.  It's our lowest unemployment rate since October of last year.  And it's also the lowest April unemployment figure for us since 2007.

The St. Cloud metro area is faring better than the state as a whole, which is at 5.6%, and the national unemployment rate which is at 8.1%.
