UNDATED - The unemployment rate for the St. Cloud metro area dropped sharply in April. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says we're now at 4.6 percent.  That's down from 6.2 percent in March.

We're now about the same as the statewide average, which is 4.7 percent. And, we're lower than the national average of 6.3 percent.

How do we compare to other metro regions around the state? Mankato is at 3.5 percent, Rochester is at 3.9 percent, The Twin Cities area is at 4.1 percent, and Duluth is at 5.9 percent.
