ST. CLOUD - Six cities in the St. Cloud metro area are hosting an open forum for regional sales tax project ideas today (Wednesday) until 7:00 p.m.

The forum is being held in the Great River Regional Library.

St. Augusta, St. Cloud, St. Joseph, Sartell, Sauk Rapids and Waite Park all have a half cent sales tax in place, the money generated is used for regional projects.

Michael Williams is the City Administrator with St. Cloud, he says the open house is all about generating ideas on what to use the tax money for.

Williams adds the tax has contributed to many important projects in the area.

Community members are able to vote on ideas for future projects on how the tax money should be used. The future suggestions for the tax money include the St. Cloud Airport, parks and trails, libraries, community centers, and transportation.
