ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud metro area has it's lowest unemployment rate in nearly eight years.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says we are now at 3.6 percent. That's the lowest its been since it was at 3.2 percent in October 2006.

The local unemployment rate fell from 4.2 percent in July.

Meanwhile, there's a record number of people who are working in the St. Cloud metro area at over 105,500.

There was just under 4,000 people who filed unemployment claims in the St. Cloud area in August.

Other metro area regions in Minnesota:
Mankato - 3.2 percent
Rochester - 3.3 percent
Minneapolis-St. Paul - 3.8 percent
Duluth - 4.7 percent
