St. Cloud Mayor To Present 2012 Budget Proposal

ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis will present his 2012 budget to council members Monday night. And, while Kleis isn't letting out any details of his budget proposal, he says the lean economic times continue for the city.

Kleis says a few years ago, city officials thought 2012 would be the year we emerged from the recession but he says new economic forecasts predict that may be as late as 2015 now.

The city of St. Cloud has had a hiring freeze in place since 2008 and several cuts have been made in all departments during that time.

The mayor also applauds city staff for their work in finding efficiencies in recent budgets but has said there may not be many areas to find more.
