ORLANDO, FLORIDA - St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis was on the first-ever flight from St. Cloud Regional Airport to the Orlando Sanford International Airport yesterday (Wednesday).

Kleis says they arrived in Orlando to a nice welcome.

Kleis says there were a lot of families on board the plane heading for Disney World.

He says the plane had about 170 seats, and there were about 30 empty seats.

A suburb of Orlando is St. Cloud, Florida.  Kleis says he plans to visit their mayor today (Thursday) and promote the "St. Cloud to St. Cloud" flights.

Allegiant Airlines is offering twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays through mid-January, then they'll go to just a Saturday schedule from mid-January through the end of March.
