St. Cloud Man Sentenced For Failing To Register As Sex Offender
ST. PAUL — A 63-year-old St. Cloud man has been sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender.
A federal judge has sentenced Lindon Roy Knutson to just over three years in prison.
In his plea agreement back in January, Knutson admitted failing to update his sex offender registration from Aug. 1, 2009, through Nov. 24, 2009.
Knutson was required to register as a sex offender based on a 1974 rape conviction in Wisconsin.
In addition, Knutson admitted that while in “failure to register” status, he attacked and sexually assaulted a 73-year-old woman at a church near Belgrade in November 2009. He pleaded guilty in Kandiyohi County to first-degree criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced to 26 years in prison last May.
His sentences will run consecutively.
