Brooklyn Park Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking
ST. CLOUD -- A Brooklyn Park man has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking, just days before his trial was to begin in Stearns County District Court.
Thirty-nine-year-old Terrell Fields was charged after an investigation into sex trafficking and prostitution in the St. Cloud area last fall.
The Central Minnesota Sex Trafficking Task Force had learned of a woman who was actively being trafficked as a prostitute. Through that investigation, police discovered Fields was actively recruiting and promoting prostitution.
Fields' trial was to begin this week. He pleaded guilty to the sex trafficking charge and faces nearly 14 years in prison when he's sentenced in April. A drug charge and prostitution charge will be dropped at that time.
