St. Cloud Man Killed In Car Crash

MINDEN TOWNSHIP -- A St. Cloud man was killed in a car crash yesterday (Friday) in Minden Township.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office was called to the intersection of 35th Avenue North East and 25th Street North East at about 6:30 p.m.

They say the driver, Jose Fabian of Sauk Rapids was allegedly speeding and intoxicated when he ran his Nissan Altima off of the road causing it to be airborne before crashing into a tree.

Fabian was taken to the St. Cloud hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The passenger, 42-year-old David Eberle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say Eberle wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Fabian was taken to the Benton County jail awaiting Criminal Vehicular Homicide charges.
