St. Cloud Man Killed by Electrocution While Trimming Trees in Minnetonka

MINNETONKA - A St. Cloud man has been identified as the tree trimmer who died earlier this week after being electrocuted in Minnetonka.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner indentified the man as 21-year-old Travis Sutherland of St. Cloud.

Sutherland came into contact with an electrical power line just after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday while trimming trees on Townline Road in Minnetonka.

He was shocked and unconcious about 25-30 feet off the ground. Authorities deactivated the power lines and performed CPR on Sutherland when he was lowered to the ground.

He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Centerwhere he later died. The Minnetonka Police Department is still investigating.
