St. Cloud Man Jailed For Alleged Hammer Assualt

ST. CLOUD — St. Cloud Police arrested a 53-year-old man for allegedly beating another man with a hammer last night (Wednesday).

Police were called to the Tenth block of Fourth Avenue North around 11:25 p.m.

When they arrived at the apartment complex officials say Michael Boyland from St. Cloud had hit a 24-year-old man in the head with a hammer several times.

The victim was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Boyland was also taken to the St. Cloud Hospital and treated for his injuries. He’s currently being held at the Stearns County Jail facing charges of Second Degree Assault.

Police say the victim is facing possible Fifth Degree Assault charges pending review by the attorney’s office.
