ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man has been charged with two counts of assault, one of which is a felony, after a fight in Rockville Saturday.

Stearns County court records show 45-year-old Justin Ladue is charged with hitting another man with a wrench or pliers causing a gash on his head requiring six staples.

According to the criminal complaint, Ladue was awakened by a loud truck who did a "burn out" in front of a house he was napping at. Ladue and the homeowner got into a vehicle, drove into town, and found the two men in the loud truck.

Ladue allegedly charged at one of the men, swearing and swinging. The man's friend intervened and tackled Ladue. The scuffle left one man with the head wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ladue was arrested on suspicion of felony 3rd degree assault and misdemeanor 5th degree assault. He told authorities he was angry because he worked nights and was sleeping. He denied using any tools in the fight.

Police never found any tools used in the assault.
