ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man faces three felony charges stemming from a drive-by shooting in south St. Cloud Tuesday.

19-year-old Malcolm Cooper has been charged with drive-by shooting, illegal possession of a firearm and second degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon at about 1:00 p.m. near the southside Boys and Girls Club in the 700 block of 13th Street South in St. Cloud. Gunshots sent multiple people running from the area.

Police say a 19-year-old woman was hurt when Cooper allegedly fired a gun from a vehicle toward people standing outside a home. Investigators do not believe the victim was struck by a bullet, but have not confirmed whether her injuries were from bullet fragments or other debris. She was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non life threatening injuries to her legs.

Sartell Police later arrested Cooper along Pinecone Road near 3rd Street South.

According to the criminal complaint, Cooper told authorities he was at his mother's home in Sartell and didn't know anything about the shooting.

Cooper is being held on $400,000 bail.
