FOLEY -- A St. Cloud man has been charged in a hit-and-run crash which killed a pedestrian in east St. Cloud Wednesday night.

Benton County Attorney Philip Miller says 27-year-old Jason Rau has been charged with a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident and driving after revocation. Benton County Judge Michael Jesse set bail for Rau at $20,000.

Rau is accused of hitting 56-year-old James Olson of St. Cloud as Olson walked across Highway 23 at the intersection of 14th Avenue Southeast. Rau then allegedly drove away from the scene and was later arrested.

Olson was first struck by another car driven by 51-year-old Mary Larcom of Sartell, but was struck a second time as Rau tried to pass her vehicle.

Rau's next court appearance is not immediately available. Charges are not expected against the Larcom.
