St. Cloud Man Arrested for Alleged Vandalism at Islamic Center
ST. CLOUD - A St. Cloud man is facing charges after he allegedly vandalized the Islamic Center. St. Cloud Police say the incident happened at about 4:45 a.m. in the 300 block of 5th Avenue South. The front window was broken, and a car parked next to the center had a broken window.
Several people attending prayer inside the center followed the suspect. They caught up to him and brought him back to the center. He's been identified as 29-year-old Abdourahamane Diallo. The windows were broken with a homemade basketball size plaster ball.
Diallo was taken into custody and admitted to doing the damage. He says he regularly attended prayer at the Islamic Center in the past. He indicated he was frustrated with personal issues.
He's also being charged with a separate case of damage to property, after allegedly damaging a friend's vehicle earlier in the evening.
The case is still being investigated.
