ST. CLOUD - Forbes has named St. Cloud as one of the "Best Small Places For Business and Careers".  St. Cloud is ranked 55th on the list.

The magazine cites the city's historical business district, several higher education facilities, and the Mississippi River as assets.

St. Cloud's cost of living is 10.2 percent below the national average. Job growth is at 2 percent. Unemployment is at 5.7 percent. The median home price is just over $120,000.  And, the median household income is just over $50,000.

However, while St. Cloud's 55th place ranking is good, there are several other cities in the upper Midwest ranked ahead of us: Sioux Falls is ranked number one, Fargo is at number two, Bismark is number four, Rapid City is number nine, Mankato is number 10, Grand Forks is number 21, and Rochester is number 35.
