ST. CLOUD -- A total of 115 vehicles were towed during St. Cloud's two-day Snow Emergency.

The Snow Emergency went into effect at 8:00 a.m. Sunday and was allowed to expire at 9:00 this morning.

Assistant Director of Operations and Maintenance Gerry Kaeter is thankful the snow came when it did.  He says had the snow come during the week, there would have been more cars on the roads, more accidents and more congestion.

Kaeter says the timing also allowed them to draw staff from other departments to help out who otherwise would be busy doing their normal duties.

He says the drawback is the fiscal impact on the budget. Because the workers had to come in on a Sunday, they were paid overtime.
