ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud residents will still have to continue going to other Great River Regional Library branches because the St. Cloud Library is not expected to be open until the end of October.

The library will remain closed until repairs and complete cleaning of light smoke and soot are done. Ceiling tiles, heating, ventilation and air condition systems, walls, and computers will also be cleaned.

A selected bid of $571,259.31 from ICC Restoration and Cleaning Services will help with the clean up. Cleaning is expected to be four to five weeks and will start  on Monday.

The library has been closed since August 17 after an arsonist set fire in the upper level of the library. The fire damaged a chair, cracked a window and did structural damage.

Albany Public Library, Clearwater Public Library, and Waite Park Public Library have extended their hours until the St. Cloud Library reopens.
