ST. CLOUD -- An 11-year-old that captured the hearts of all Minnesotan's in 1989, is still loved and thought of. Although he may be gone, his presence and old jersey number still live on.

As the St. Cloud Huskies welcomed Mankato Mavericks, fans were not only cheering for the huskies but for Jacob Wetterling. They wore a sticker with his old jersey number, 11, but most importantly they took a vow to live by the 11 traits.

  1. Be fair
  2. Be kind
  3. Be understanding
  4. Be honest
  5. Be thankful
  6. Be a good sport
  7. Be a good friend
  8. Be joyful
  9. Be generous
  10. Be gentle with others
  11. Be positive

For Jerry Ramirez, a St. Joseph resident where Wetterling was abducted, signing his name and his son's name, tyler meant a lot to him.

"It was really important for me and my son to sign our names and live by the traits. Just being from the area and knowing the family meant a lot to us says, Ramirez"

Ramirez was not just signing to sign, for him, he wanted to at least live by one of the 11 traits. One, in particular, stood out to him.

"I think the fair one hits home. Just making sure everybody knows everyone deserves an equal chance or an opportunity to be a part of something. So being fair is great"

In times like this, may we all remember to live by Jacob's 11 traits.
