ST. CLOUD -- Community members gathered at the St. Cloud Hospital this morning (Monday) to pay tribute to veterans and their families.

The event began with a flag caring ceremony followed by an address from St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis, St. Cloud Hospital president Craig Broman and more.

Kim Asmus is the event coordinator. She says she was inspired to organize the event because her grandfather was a veteran.

The event concluded with a flag folding presentation and a Veterans Day blessing. The flag will be framed and displayed in the hospital's main lobby.

Asmus says they plan to use the same flag for next year's ceremony. This is the first year the hospital has hosted a Veterans Day event. They plan to make it an annual tradition.
