ST. CLOUD — Sixteen years ago terrorists attacked our country and today we’re honoring the victims and all who responded on September 11, 2001.

St. Cloud held its 16th annual ‘A Day to Remember’ event to show support for all who wear the police, fire and military uniforms.

As in years past, the event was held on the steps outside the St. Cloud Police Department.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says we should never forget the attacks on our soil 16 years ago.

“The September 11th terrorist attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks against the United States. Loss of life 2,996 people.”

St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson says on this day, we should always honor those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

“Continue to support our armed services, our public safety officials and our first responders, and continue to remember America will always be the land of the free because of the brave.”

At least 50 of people came out to the ceremony which honored men and women in uniform both past and present, who risk their lives everyday, to protect our freedom.
