ST. CLOUD -- If you walked into the Holiday Inn in St. Cloud today you may have seen what was a family reunion, when in actuality it was a gathering of people for the annual Celebration of Norwegian Heritage event.

Over 400 people gathered in St. Cloud to talk about their lives, hear someone's stories about their past, and just be in company of fellow Norwegian's.

"Instead of getting together because we want to see our old neighbors we do it because we want to learn about family history," says Anne Sladky.

For three full days events, speakers, entertainment, food and movies all talk about what life and the culture of a Norwegian is like.

"We have thirty-six different entertainers from Norway who are singing and dancing for us," says Sladky. "And we are having a great time."

And just like any family tree research, it's event like this that tell you who you are and where you came from.

"You learn all sorts of things about yourself that you didn't know where it came from," says Sladky.
