ST. CLOUD - A few people from the St. Cloud Area are on their way to help with disaster relief in Houston.

The three people that are on their way are a part of the Southern Baptist Conference and Park Fellowship Church in Sartell. The SBC is the third largest disaster relief organization in the United States.

The group is taking a trailer down to Houston that has four shower stalls, and even a place for people to wash their clothing.

Jim Kruse is one of the volunteers in the group. He says they are just a small part of the hurricane relief efforts from the SBC.

"{SBC} disaster relief has mud out teams to clean people's homes. Chainsaws, chaplains  and many different types of services. So this is just one little piece of it."

Another way Kruse and the SBC are helping people in Houston is by providing some essentials.

"We also have bins and bins of underwear and towels for people."

This will be Kruse and his wife Flo's first time doing disaster relief for the SBC. He says while he is excited to get down there, he knows they will have to be ready to see a lot of destruction.

"We just really need to be strong because I think we are going to see a lot of suffering down there. I have heard that there are thousands and thousands of dead cattle that couldn't be evacuated and just a lot of flooded homes."

The group plans on being around Houston for next two weeks and may head to Florida after that.
