ST. CLOUD -- While the cold and snow may force many of us inside, one St. Cloud running group doesn't let mother nature stop them.

Debbie Bemboom is with the St. Cloud River Runners. She says when it comes to running outside in the winter, be prepared.

"Dress in layers, look at the temperature, you don't have to have any exposed skin. I'm one for hand warmers since my hands are always cold," says Bemboom.

Every Wednesday the St. Cloud River Runners brave the elements for a time of fitness and friendship.

"That fresh air you won't even believe how good it makes you feel," says Bemboom.

Having proper shoes, staying hydrated and wearing reflective gear help with the overall experience, as well as knowing your surroundings.

"Sidewalks and bridges can be slippery. Sometimes we end up walking those because there are no other options cause you can't go on the road cause with the cars is very dangerous," says Bemboom.

Whether you're an avid runner or just wanted to get out of the house every now and again, the group is always willing to have you take along.

"A single runner is not as visible as a group and you'll have more fun with a group," says Paul Ford with the St. Cloud River Runners.

You can join the run for yourself every Wednesday at the Endurance Shop in downtown St. Cloud starting at 6:00 p.m.
