ST CLOUD - St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis will once again face no formal opposition this fall as he runs to keep his seat that he's held since 2005.

The filing period for the mayor's seat and four city council seats closed at 5:00 p.m. today (Tuesday).

Steve Laraway is also running unopposed for the city council seat for Ward 2.  That's a seat that he was appointed to when it was left vacant by Nancy Gohman.

The three at-large city council seat are also up for election in November.  The three incumbents have all filed: Carol Lewis, Jeff Goerger, and George Hontos.  As well as two newcomers: Abdi H. Daisaine, and Ken Grinsell.  Because there are fewer than seven candidates running for the three at-large seats, there will not be a primary election and all five candidates will move on to the general election.
