ST. CLOUD - Local officials say jobs in the St. Cloud area have stabilized.

Economic Development Director Cathy Mehelich says the area's largest private employers are reporting a steady workforce.  She says the only real negative over the past year was the layoffs at Creative Memories.

Mehelich says the EDA office worked on two bigger projects this year, one being the New Flyer Expansion.

Mehelich says New Flyer has added about 80 new jobs so far.

The St. Cloud EDA was instrumental the redevelopment project for the former Granite Bowl site along Division Street.

The German-based farm implement manufacturer Geringhoff Incorporated continues to ramp-up to full production in St. Cloud.  Mehelich says several members of their corporate team in Germany were in town over the weekend.

She says the St. Cloud EDA provided Geringhoff with the names of 65 product suppliers statewide.  Of those, about half have secured contracts with Geringhoff, and four companies have expanded their operations based on the increased business from Geringhoff.

Geringhoff's announcement of their plan to come to St. Cloud was made in September of last year.
