St. Cloud Diocese to Hold 2nd Session on Ex-Deacon

ST. CLOUD  (AP) - The Diocese of St. Cloud holds another listening session on a former deacon accused of sexual abuse.

Monday night's session is the second on a man who was a deacon at the Church of the Holy Spirit in St. Cloud in 1969-70. At least five people have filed police reports accusing him of abuse. He was never charged. He did not become a priest but went on to a career in child protection.

A lawsuit filed last week accuses the ex-deacon of sexual abuse and the diocese of covering it up.

The diocese says it considers the abuse allegations credible.

The diocese scheduled the second session in response to questions and comments at the first Dec. 4. It's set for 6:30 p.m. at Holy Spirit.
