ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud city council is expected to approve a plan to bring the old Abraham Lincoln statue back to downtown. During tonight's (Monday) meeting, the council will be asked to authorize funding to complete the "Lincoln Plaza Project", just to the north of the new parking ramp, along 1st Street North.

The historic Lincoln statue has been refurbished, and cannot be reinstalled at the previous location.

Originally it was intended to be placed near the head of the Beaver Island Trail.

The city is expected to spend about $175,000 to complete the Lincoln Plaza.
