St. Cloud Council Hears Marco Abatement Request

ST. CLOUD - Tonight (Monday) it's the St. Cloud city council's turn to take-up the issue of a tax abatement for Marco Incorporated.

Council members will consider the nearly $1 million tax break during a public hearing.

Marco wants the abatement to help build a new facility near Interstate-94 close to McStop.  Marco officials have said the project can't go forward without the help from local governments.

The St. Cloud Economic Development Authority gave their endorsement to the project last week.  The St. Cloud area school board has also given their approval.  However, the Stearns County Board of Commissioners voted it down.
