ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud City Council unanimously voted Monday to repeal their "Civic Center Rates, Fees and Charges Established" ordinance.

The ordinance went into effect in 2007 to set rates for the now River's Edge Convention Center.

The advisory board was previously required to seek approval from the council before making changes to their fees.

The council decided to allow the advisory board to determine their own rates and pricing.

Council member, George Hontos says, "It's a good idea to do...we should let others do their work...we still look at the annual budget."

The council still has the authority to look over the facility budget and make suggestions.

Community Facilities Director, Tony Goddard says this will allow them to operate more effectively and competitively.

The council also voted to amend their "Fees, Charges and Rates Established" ordinance.
