ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud city council will decide tonight (Monday) whether to approve or deny a liquor license to two longtime downtown bars.

A special public hearing is scheduled during tonight's regular council meeting to review the application for a liquor license for McRudy's Pub, and Rum Runner's Spirits and Brew Club.  Both are jointly owned by Brad Ireland and Eric Sandrock.

Over the course of the past four months, the city council imposed a $750 penalty to Rum Runner's for selling alcohol to a minor, a $750 penalty to McRudy's for a fire code violation, and another $1,500 penalty to Rum Runner's for a fire code violation.

The liquor license application is for one year, from July 1st of this year through June 30th of next year.

Both bars temporarily closed their doors earlier this month, pending tonight's public hearing.
