ST. CLOUD -  Arctic Cat is planning a major expansion project in St. Cloud.  The plan includes the construction of a test track and a building addition.

As part of the process, the St. Cloud city council approved the creation of a Tax Increment Financing District, as well as approving a Business Subsidy Agreement. Both passed unanimously.

Phase 1 of the project is building a $1.3 million test track on 18 acres. The land is currently owned by the St. Cloud Economic Development Authority.  Arctic Cat is planning to buy that land.  They would also lease another 20 acres of wetlands from the EDA.

Phase 2 of the project is a 67,000 square foot building expansion next year, at a cost of about $5.2 million.  That expansion would come with the addition of at least 50 new jobs, with a salary of at least $24 an hour.

Arctic Cat just completed an expansion project last year that created 10 new jobs.
