UNDATED -- The latest winter storm heading in our direction is expected to drop 5-9 inches of snow on Central Minnesota.

If we get over five-inches of snow, that could make this December one of our snowiest Decembers on record in St. Cloud.  So far we've had 10.8 inches of snow this month, our 10th snowiest December had 16.2" back in 2000.  There have been three times in our history where we've had over 25 inches of snow in December.

Our average December snowfall is five-inches.

By the way, our December snowfall so far pales in comparison to cities to the south of us.  Minneapolis-St. Paul have had 24.2", and Rochester is already at a whopping 31.7".

Meanwhile, cities to the north of us have struggled to get snow, International Falls has had 6.1" and Duluth is at 4.1" in December.
