St. Cloud Area Home Sales Increase in 2012

ST. CLOUD -- Home sales were up significantly in the St. Cloud area in 2012 compared to the year before.

Statistics released by the Minnesota Association of Realtors shows closed sales in the Multiple Listing Service for the St. Cloud Area were up by 15.9%.

The median sales price in the St. Cloud area was up by 4% and pending sales were up 12.6%.

In the six area cities which make up the St. Cloud area, St. Augusta had the biggest jump in closed sales at 47.6% compared to 2011. Sartell was second with 26.6% followed by St. Joseph at 20%, St. Cloud at 17% and Sauk Rapids at 9.3%. Only Waite Park saw a decrease in closed sales last year with a 9.5% decline compared to the year before.

Furthermore, county-by-county statistics show a similar picture. Stearns County, as a whole, saw an increase in total home sales of 14.4%. Sherburne County's numbers were up 10.4% in 2012 and Benton County was up 9.1%.
