ST. CLOUD -- Local dentists and dental students gave kids a brighter smile today (Saturday) with the "Give Kids a Smile" program.

Over 40 children ages 3-18 received free dental work as part of the program.

Charlotte Randall is a Dental Hygiene Instructor at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. She says the school has participated in the program for the past 9 years.

"We have four dentists from the area volunteering their time today, as well as our dental assistant and dental hygiene are also helping out," says Randall.

Kristen Hill is a second year Dental Hygiene student at the college. She says she enjoys the hands on experience "Give Kids a Smile" gives.

"Kids are happy to be here, parents are happy the work is free and it's awesome to be apart of such a positive thing in the community," says Hill.

"Our dentist that volunteer actually called us back in September to see if we were doing it again," says Randall. "They really enjoy it."

Hill says it's the smiles that come to the children's face that make's the career choice worth it.
