Tech and Apollo freshmen Matt Neuman and Brian Jones both made the All-Tournament Team at state for Adaptive Floor Hockey. They were selected by area coaches.

Both Jones and Neuman have been playing floor hockey for about two years. Neuman plays defense and prides himself in stopping shots.

"Blocking the pucks from getting to the goalie," Neuman says.

Jones plays center on the team and always enjoys scoring.

"Making goals and just helping the team out," he says.

Head coach Mike Bakken says the two were nominated by coaching staff for their top play and for being even better teammates.

"Jones led us on offense at center and Matthew was our best defenseman this year. It was good to see them get acknowledged for the All-Tournament Team."

While he may be on defense, Neuman admits that he also enjoys joining his teammates in blasting the puck.

"[The best part] is lifting the puck high."

With both being freshman, Bakken says he has no doubt that they will only continue to get better.

"It gives them a chance to participate with their peers. They can be playing and competing against athletes their own age."

Both Jones and Neuman agree that they simply love the sport.

"It's just awesome, I'm proud of the team," Neuman says.
