ST. CLOUD -- Direct flights from St. Cloud to mesa, Arizona proved to be a success in 2013. Ridership numbers released by the St. Cloud Regional Airport show a load factor of almost 92% on the flights totaling more than 28,700 total passengers last year.

Airport Director Bill Towle says that basically measures how many seats are full on the airplanes. The goal is at least a 90% load factor. Towle says Allegiant Airlines is happy with the numbers.

Towle says starting in February, Allegiant will offer a third weekly flight to Mesa. He says they are also working to get a second weekly flight to Orlando in the coming weeks. And, he says they'll start up discussions on adding direct flights to Las Vegas too.
